Occupational Therapists strive to provide person-centred care and quality intervention to empower individuals to achieve independence and live a life that is meaningful and purposeful to them. Occupational Therapists see individuals across the lifespan who may have limitations due to mental illness, physical injury, or congenital conditions and work with them to improve their ability to function, return to daily activities and achieve their goals for recovery.

We utilise evidence-based and purposeful intervention that can include therapeutic activities, use, and implementation of assistive technology equipment and practical support to assist individuals to regain or maintain their independence, engage in meaningful activities and remain safe in their homes and community.

Jacinta – Occupational Therapist

I graduated from the University of the Sunshine Coast in 2018 and have since gained experience working in both the public and private sectors. During my time at Queensland Health, I worked as an Occupational Therapy Mental Health Case Manager in both community and homeless teams. Within the private sector, I have had the opportunity to work with the National Disability Insurance Scheme and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

I have a special interest in working with adults with psychosocial disabilities, with a goal of working collaboratively with clients to support them to live their life on their terms.

During my free time, I enjoy spending time at the beach, in nature, and exploring new places to eat.

Garry – Occupational Therapist

Born in Bradford England, Bradford is an established Victorian Mill town in West Yorkshire on the edge of the famous Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Graduated with honours from the University of Leeds at the York St John College with a Batchelor of health science in Occupational Therapy in 2003. Post-graduation I practiced at Airedale General Hospital completing a two-year rotational position in areas including young person’s rehabilitation, acute adult mental health in patient services, community adult and older persons mental health services, and then taking up a position as deputy team leader in an occupational therapy specific team providing inpatient and outpatient care to adults and older persons physical services prior to emigrating to Australia in 2007.

Upon arrival in Australia in 2007, I began working in Queensland Health providing Occupational Therapy in predominantly community mental health services providing holistic assessment and treatment for individuals with complex and enduring mental health conditions.

I have dedicated a large portion of my career to date supporting people with severe, complex, and enduring mental health conditions and supporting people to mitigate the impact of such conditions upon the individual’s ability to function within his/her own environment. I would describe myself as a motivated and client- centered Occupational Therapist with a passion for working with people in their home environment to help maximise a person’s independence, engage in activities that have meaning and purpose for them, improve their quality of life and achieve their goals.
